This is an acrylic painting, 12 x 24, and comes with a simple black wood frame. On Lake Superior, where I lived for twenty years, the sky is nearly always putting on an amazing show in the evening. I had a special affinity for watching clouds over the lake, especially when they were brewing up a rare purple storm. I don't know why it happens, but it's mesmerizing, though you don't want to be far from cover, because way out on the lake they look leisurely and lazy and slow, and then suddenly things are FLYING. I once chased a restaurants table umbrella halfway down the road before it crashed into a ditch, amazingly unscathed! It is a place where the wind is FIERCE. The island where I lived was once hit by a storm that clocked over a hundred MPH windspeed--some said that a windspeed monitor somewhere in town broke at 120. ,
Acrylic painting, 12 x 24 with black wood frame. Purple storm
I lived on an island in Lake Superior for 20 Year. Occasionally, in the evening, when a storm rolls in, it comes wrapped in purple. I've never seen that before, except over that great body of water. She is a magic lake.
